This past weekend, John Oliver discussed third-party candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein on his weekly HBO show, Last Week Tonight.
While Stein and especially Johnson have received their share of negative attention in the past few months, John Oliver gives them the total scrutiny they deserve in the below clip.
In a normal election that doesn’t have a thin-skinned racist, misogynist, mendacious celebrity demagogue and failed businessman garnering 40% of the vote, we probably wouldn’t have these candidates on our radar. But because people have been so disappointed in their choices, they’ve looked to the third-party candidates for some solace (which is good!)
Unfortunately these two candidates don’t have many positive qualities as politicians, leaders or thinkers beyond “not being Donald Trump”. WATCH John Oliver tear into them below:
